Uppena review: Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty starrer is Predictable but emotional

Vaishnav Tej, Krithi Shetty, Vijay Sethupathy starrer Uppena hit screens this Friday (Feb 12). The movie has good buzz since its shoot. Let’s look at the movie uppena review.

The film revolves around Aasi ( Vaishnav Tej), a fisherboy and Bebamma (Krithi Shetty), a daughter of a Local Landlord (Vijay Sethupathy). They belong to different castes, fall in love with each other. But their Love poses a threat to Rayanam’s (VJS) name and reputation. Will their Love story succeed?

This is the first film for Vaishnav Tej. We can say it is a bold choice with this story for the debut. He has done a decent job for the movie. Another debutant Krithi Shetty has done a great job. Her cute expressions and dialogues are some of the highlights of the film. As usual, Vijay Sethupathy delivers a solid performance. he carries an ominous look all through the film. His attitude is top-notch.

Coming to the behind screen, Devi Sri Prasad deserves special mention. His songs are one of the reasons for the build-up of hype on the film. BGM score breathed life into the story. Visuals are of top quality. The screenplay is engaging, especially in the First half.

Director Buchi Babu Sana picked the story based on casteism. He narrated well with good visuals.  After watching the trailer, one can expect the story is based on honor killings. The much-hyped and talked about climax portion is somewhat different from other movies.

The first half is engaging and enjoyable with romance and fun from the lead cast. But the second half has a few lags. It could have been better. The Uppena movie is for those who love this type of realistic love dramas.
