Check movie Review: Nithiin Starrer is not up to the mark!

After the success of his last outing ‘Bheeshma’, Nithiin is back into the cinemas with Check movie. Directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, Check movie hit screens on February 26th. The movie has Rakul Preet Singh and Priya Prakash Varrier as female leads. Let’s look at the check movie review.

Story: Aditya (Nithiin) is given a death sentence for his involvement in terrorism. His only hope for living lies in playing chess.

Aditya is facing charges of terrorism and is sentenced to death. He appealed to the court to appoint him a lawyer who will help to get out of his sentence. Rakul Preet takes up the case for the sake of her father. Meanwhile, Aditya meets a chess player fellow prisoner Sriman Narayana (Sai Chand) who is pro at the game. The scenes between them are so unique. The rest of the story is about how Aditya will escape!

Review: Nithiin plays a simple character and it is the complete opposite of what he normally does in his films. Nitin has done a fantastic job. Rakul Preet Singh also did a unique role contrary to her glamorous rules. She was quite good in courtroom scenes. Priya Prakash Varrier did not get much opportunity for a decent debut. Sai Chand is very good as a chess coach.

The film has some good scenes are followed by several boring scenes. Some scenes are engaging and some are not. The concept of the film sounds unique and interesting. But Yeleti fails to execute his best idea. The writing is somewhat weak.

The film has an excellent production design art director needs to be mentioned with his beautiful sets in a jail. Cinematography and Kalyan Malik’s BGM are striking.

Some scenes are brilliantly shot in the first staff and it shows the mark of Yeleti. But the second half is filled with many plot holes. Finally, Nithiin’s check movie leaves us with mixed feelings. one can say after watching that Check is an ordinary film and it’s not up to the mark.
