Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Clyde Crasto has slammed Bollywood celebrities Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar for their silence on the recent incident involving the detention of ace wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia by the Delhi police. The wrestlers were detained after they breached the security cordon while trying to move towards the new Parliament building for a planned women’s ‘Mahapanchayat’ on Sunday. In his scathing attack on the two Bollywood superstars, Clyde Crasto questioned why they had not shown support for the protesting wrestlers despite having acted in sports films and achieved fame and fortune through such roles. He asked, “What is stopping them from tweeting and showing support to our wrestlers who are fighting for justice? What or who are they afraid of?”
It is a valid question and one that many people are asking. Bollywood celebrities are often seen as role models and influencers, with millions of fans and followers across social media platforms. They have the power to raise awareness and support for important causes and issues, and their silence on this matter is concerning.

Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are both known for their roles in sports films, with Shah Rukh Khan starring in the popular movie “Chak De! India”, which is about a women’s hockey team, and Akshay Kumar appearing in films like “Gold” and “Brothers”, which are based on hockey and mixed martial arts respectively.
Given their involvement in sports films, it seems only natural that they should speak out in support of the wrestlers who were detained by the police. These wrestlers are fighting for justice and their rights, and their cause deserves to be heard and supported by everyone, including celebrities.
