The makers of the latest Tamil film Maaran unveiled the trailer on Monday. The movie starring Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan in the lead roles is written and directed by Karthick Naren.
In the trailer, Dhanush’s character Maaran is depicted as a celebrated investigative journalist willing to speak the truth to the power brokers. He exposes a scam, which irks a politician, who chases Maaran with all his might. In order to protect his loved ones, Maaran has to fight against the entire system. The trailer also indicates that Maaran’s relationship with his sister plays an important role in the narrative.

In the film, Maaran has a romance with his colleague, Malavika. The film also stars Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, Mahendran, and Ameer in supporting roles.
Maaran, starring Dhanush, will not be released in theaters and will stream directly on Disney+ Hotstar. Fans can watch Maaran online and download it on their respective accounts.
Dhanush’s last film Atrangi Re co-starring Sara Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar, also premiered on Disney+ Hotstar for Christmas. It was directed by Aanand L. Rai.
