No Hard Feelings is a movie that will make you laugh out loud, but it’s not for the faint of heart. The storyline follows the character of Maddie Barker, played by none other than Jennifer Lawrence, as she tries to seduce a socially awkward 19-year-old for financial gain. While this premise may seem like a bad idea at first, the movie is a great reminder of how good J-Law is at lighting up a screen.

Jennifer Lawrence Movie reviews

Maddie Barker is a woman who has grown up in Montauk her entire life and is trying to stay there. Unfortunately, she is struggling to pay property taxes on the home she inherited from her late mother and gets by on odd jobs. To make matters worse, she loses her car for not making payments on it. No car means no Uber driving and no tourist money for bills. But Maddie is determined to stay in Montauk, and she has found an incredibly unconventional way of scoring new wheels. A pair of wealthy parents are willing to give a car to a nice girl who will sleep with their shut-in son before he goes to college.

Maddie sees an opportunity and jumps on it. The premise of No Hard Feelings may seem distasteful, but the movie is anything but. It’s a hilarious and heartwarming story that will leave you feeling good. Jennifer Lawrence gives a standout performance as Maddie, and her comedic timing is spot-on. She brings a lightness to the movie that makes it easy to overlook the more controversial aspects of the plot.
