The movie, originally released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, has become available for streaming. “Salaar” is a Pan-Indian action drama set in the fictional city-state of Khansaar. The story revolves around the strong bond between Deva (played by Prabhas), a tribesman, and Varadha (played by Prithviraj), the prince of Khansaar. Varadha seeks Deva’s help when faced with a planned coup orchestrated by his own family members and ministers as he aims to establish his undisputed reign over Khansaar. The film is the first part of a two-part series inspired by Prashanth Neel’s debut work, “Ugramm” (2014).
Principal photography for “Salaar” began in January 2021 in the picturesque surroundings of Godavarikhani, Telangana. The music for the film was composed by Ravi Basrur, while Bhuvan Gowda served as the cinematographer.
The exceptional ensemble cast includes Prabhas as Salaar, Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vardharaja Mannaar, Shruti Hassan as Aadhya, and Jagapathi Babu as Rajamannaar. Other notable cast members include Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju, Madhu Guruswamy, Saptagiri, Prudhvi Raj, Jhansi, and Mime Gopi.
