The film has set the Telugu box office on fire, surpassing expectations with its toned-down commercial approach. Director Anil Ravipudi has skillfully delivered “mass moments” that have delighted fans of the Tollywood star while also appealing to neutral cinema-goers who appreciate a more subdued film.
On its opening day, “Bhagavanth Kesari” collected an impressive Rs 20 crore from across India, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This is a significant achievement considering that the film faced tough competition from Vijay’s “Leo.” Despite Vijay’s limited reach in the Telugu market compared to Balakrishna, the Tamil star’s film still managed to earn around Rs 15 crore from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This highlights the immense hype surrounding the movie and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe, making “Bhagavanth Kesari’s” Day 1 collection even more remarkable.
The film enjoyed an average theatre occupancy of around 65 percent in the two Telugu-speaking states. With the upcoming long weekend, it is expected that the film’s collection will continue to grow and surpass its Day 1 numbers. However, it will face competition from Ravi Teja’s “Tiger Nageswara Rao,” which is set to debut on Friday.

According to Sacnilk.com, “Bhagavanth Kesari” is projected to earn around ₹7.17 crore nett in India on its second day, bringing its total to ₹27.17 crore at the domestic box office. On Thursday, the film enjoyed an overall occupancy rate of 62.03 percent, with night shows reaching a maximum occupancy of 72.34 percent.
Produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under the Shine Screens banner, “Bhagavanth Kesari” was released on October 19, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Dasara. The film marks the fourth collaboration between Nandamuri Balakrishna and composer Thaman S, following their successful partnerships in “Dictator” (2016), “Akhanda” (2021), and “Veera Simha Reddy” (2023). Additionally, Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal delivers a standout performance as the antagonist, Rahul Sanghvi, adding further depth to the film.
