Dunki Box Office: Day 1 Collections Are Lower Than Pathaan And jawan!

Shah Rukh Khan, one of the biggest superstars in Bollywood, has had a tremendous year so far with back-to-back hits in Pathaan and Jawan. However, his latest film, Dunki, seems to struggle to create the same buzz as its predecessors. Despite its star-studded cast and the presence of renowned director Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki still needs to make the same impact as previous SRK films.

Dunki Box Office

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dunki made Rs 30 crore nett domestic on its opening day, making it the year’s seventh-biggest opener after Jawan, Animal, Pathaan, Tiger 3, Gadar 2, and Adipurush. While this opening day figure isn’t something to scoff at, it falls short of the standards set by Shah Rukh Khan’s previous films, especially in comparison to the massive opening of Jawan, which made Rs 75 crore on its first day of release.

Despite its relatively low opening day numbers, Dunki is still ahead of other recent releases, such as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and Dream Girl 2. The film had a solo release on Thursday but will face stiff competition from Prashanth Neel’s Salaar on Friday.

While Dunki stars big names like Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, it is still struggling to attract audiences in the same way as Shah Rukh Khan’s previous films. The film’s opening day figures are also a letdown for director Rajkumar Hirani, who has a history of delivering blockbusters at the box office. His previous film, Sanju, opened to an impressive Rs 34.75 crore and went on to make Rs 342.53 during its theatrical run. These numbers make Dunki’s opening-day earnings look even more disappointing.

Despite the underwhelming opening, there is still hope for Dunki to turn its fortunes around. Shah Rukh Khan has a massive fan following, and the film’s star-studded cast and talented director could help it pick up steam in the coming days. It remains to be seen whether Dunki can replicate the success of SRK’s previous films or if it will fall short of expectations.
