Finally, the wait is over! We were left wanting more after Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah released the first teaser for Darlings a few weeks ago. Finally, Alia, Shefali, and Vijay Varma have released the trailer for Alia’s debut production, ending the fans’ wait. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer for the dark comedy features Alia, Shefali, and Vijay in unique roles.

Alia Bhatt’s performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi left us impressed, and she will next be seen in Netflix’s Darlings. The film was made for a whopping amount of  Rs 75 crore. Today, July 25, the long-awaited trailer was revealed by the creators.

In the two-and-a-half-minute, 34-second trailer, Alia and Shefali report Vijay Varma missing. There is a twist, though. Alia is not as naïve as she appears, and the teaser reveals that she has experienced domestic abuse and is determined to treat her husband, Humza, who is played by Vijay Varma, in the same way.

In Alia Bhatt’s Darlings, a quirky mother-daughter team must navigate absurd situations while seeking their place in the world. The dark comedy follows the lives of these two women as they find bravery and love in difficult situations in Mumbai against the backdrop of a strict lower middle-class neighbourhood.
