RRR box office collection: Rajamouli’s film is racing towards 1000 crores

RRR has surpassed Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ at the box office, earning Rs 800 crore (global gross) as of Monday. According to official records shared on Twitter by Indian trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, ‘RRR’ has become the fifth highest-grossing Indian film, surpassing Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’s lifetime collection of Rs 800 crore (worldwide gross) at the box office.

“#RRR is now the 5th HIGHEST grossing Indian film of all time surpassing #PK movie,” he wrote. “#RRR’s lifetime gross of Rs819.06 crore BEATS #2Point0’s lifetime gross of Rs800 crore to become the 6th HIGHEST grossing Indian film of all time,” he tweeted earlier.

However, given the film’s current pace, it appears like RRR will easily outperform Aamir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Bajranji Bhaijaan’ to rank among the top three highest-grossing Indian films.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan has presently ranked third on the list of highest-grossing Indian films with a lifetime total of Rs 969.06 crore, whereas ‘Secret Superstar’ is currently ranked fourth with a total of Rs 969.06 crore.

However, with RRR easily approaching the Rs 1,000 crore mark, it appears like SS Rajamouli’s film would overtake ‘Secret Superstar’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ to win the number three place and become India’s third highest-grossing film of all time.
