Power star Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of this year. Pawan Kalyan makes come back after 3 years with the remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Pink. Let’s see whether the film lives up to the hype or not.

Story:

Pallavi (Nivetha Thomas), Zareen (Anjali), and Divya (Ananya Nagalla) are the roommates who work in different offices. They belong to middle-class families. Their happy life soon turns upside down due to the unfortunate one-night party with affluent boys. The girls find themselves in trouble facing charges of attempt to murder.

Vakil Saab aka Konidela Satyadev (Pawan Kalyan), who is a suspended lawyer becomes the only hope for these girls to prove their innocence. Will Satya dev manage to bring justice to three ladies?

Performances:

Pawan Kalyan’s comeback is surely a treat for his fans. He gave a decent performance as an aggressive lawyer. Though his part in a First Half seems dull, his character pickups in the second half. He did very well in all the courtroom scenes with Prakash Raj. Pawan’s style and presence are superbly showcased by director Venu Sriram. He added some masala elements to suit Pawan Kalyan’s image.

If we compare to the original film Pink, Pawan Kalyan’s character is different from Amitabh Bachchan’s. While Amitabh takes the route of calm and composure with fewer words, Pawan’s character chose an aggressive way.

The flashback episode with Shruti Haasan might unnecessary for this film. The chemistry between Pawan and Shruthi looks forced. Some scenes and dialogues clearly sound political, which are not needed for a feminism-based film.

The three ladies need special mention as each of them has done an excellent job. Especially Niveda Thomas and Anjali added the soul to the film with their emotional outbursts. Their superb acting in the courtroom scenes brings tears to the eyes.

S Thaman‘s BGM is undoubtedly the major attraction of the film. Specially Maguva Maguva song shot and executed well. The screenplay dialogues in the second half are superb. The cinematography work is very good.

Finally

Ont the whole Vakeel Saab is an emotional drama with a strong message. Pawan Kalyan gives a solid comeback with his performance. The first half seems a little dull, but it picks up in the latter part. Watch the film for the performances of PSPK, Nivetha Thomas, and Anjali. The film will definitely earn solid openings for sure.
