Vikram is now the Highest grossing Tamil film of 2022
Vikram, Kamal Haasan’s recent outing, grosses more than Rs 250 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2022 so far. The film starring Kamal Haasan, has grossed about Rs165 crore in its first week in India. It has a worldwide box office gross of Rs 250 crore.
Mr. Hassan’s movie is continuing his winning streak at the box office, grossing more over Rs 250 crore globally. According to estimates, the film has surpassed Beast as the biggest grossing Tamil film of 2022. In India, the film grossed roughly Rs 165 crores in its first week.
According to trade expert Ramesh Bala, the first week collections are the second-highest in Kollywood history, after only 2.0, which benefited greatly from the Hindi and Telugu versions. The first week box office for the Tamil version is the biggest ever, surpassing Bigil (Rs. 136 crores) with Rs. 140.30 crores.
Positive reviews and great word of mouth are expected to result in increased foot traffic for Vikram during the weekend, according to the trade. The film is also claimed to be doing well in north Indian states at the box office.
Meanwhile, the picture is doing quite well in international markets. Vikram’s overseas box office receipts are estimated to have totaled nearly Rs 80 crore.
In addition to playing the protagonist, Kamal Haasan has invested in Vikram through his Raaj Kamal International Films business. Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, and Suriya also star in the film. And a Vikram sequel is already in the works.
